  • This course of instruction prepares individuals for operating in the role of an administrator or director of a licensed child care center or registered home. The Day Care Administrator Credential Program is onethat focuses on the provision and management ofchild careservices. It prepares individuals to plan, design, and managechild carefacilities and programs that meet children's developmental needs and interests. While making provisions to create safe and healthy environments.Includes instruction in child development and psychology; home- and institution-based child care; identification of diseases, injuries, and psychological trauma and applicable referrals; parent relations; personnel and business management principles; and related laws and policies. It provides administrative candidates with an opportunity to earn professional recognition beyond secondary education or if their degree is in a different field. Graduates may find suitable employment in the child care industry as a director, assistant director, administrative professional or director of a registered home. Upon completion of this program students will be able to apply their knowledge base and improve their skill level in a child care environment.

  • The primary goal as a child care teacher is to keep children safe and healthy. Creating a safe, healthy environment requires careful planning and preparation. This course will prepare child care professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to arrange space in a center that promotes safety as well as learning and fun. Participants will learn criteria for choosing toys and equipment that will safely help meet program goals. Safety objectives will be discussed that will guide students in preparing environments that prevent accidents and illnesses.
